# Maintain size and position through restarting?

I’ve noticed that when I move the mini Grindstone window around and then restart my computer, the size and position of the timer is not used. Is there any way to get Grindstone to remember where I put it rather than having it move back to the upper right corner of the primary monitor?

The last known positions and sizes of the two modes are remembered independently of one another.

So what do I need to do to get grindstone to remember my desired position and size? Because it definitely doesn’t for me.

I think the minimized dock location and size are remembered.
But if I recall correctly, it does not remember the expanded viewer. Whenever I restart the app I think I have to update the size of it…so I can see all the columns to the right.

The minimized one is the one I care most about and is the one that keeps reverting for me.

Any updates on this? The minimized dock always resets after a restart and the expanded window also always moves and the size is reset so I can’t see all my columns anymore. It sounds like these positions and sizes are supposed to be remembered, but aren’t. This is annoying to have to fix every time I restart my computer.

1. Open Grindstone
2. Move the minibar to a different location on the screen (e.g. mine starts in the top right, but I want it on the lower right).
3. Open the expanded view and move that window to another location (again, it opens in the upper right and I want it in the lower right near the minibar). Resize the window (I have an added column, so I want it to be a little wider, but I probably grab the corner and increase both width and height a little bit).
4. Use Grindstone normally. It stays in the place you leave it as you log in and out and expand/minimize and so on.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Start Grindstone
7. It’s back in the original (upper right) position - NOT where I told it to be. I’d like for it to remember where I put it and stay there.
